Hi there! 👋 I’m Om Gawande, and this is the story of how I went from a curious developer to a Full Stack Engineer who turns caffeine into clean code and pixels into perfection.
The Beginning: Finding My Path
My journey started with a simple fascination for how websites work. Like many developers, I began with the basics - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But what really hooked me was the moment I realized I could build entire applications that solve real problems.
“With great power comes great responsibility… and with great JavaScript comes even greater debugging.”
The MERN Stack Era
My first serious dive into full-stack development came through the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js). This combination opened up a world of possibilities:
- Frontend Magic: React taught me how to think in components and manage state effectively
- Backend Power: Node.js and Express.js showed me how to build scalable APIs
- Database Mastery: MongoDB introduced me to NoSQL and flexible data modeling
During my time as a Teaching Assistant at Coding Ninjas, I had the privilege of mentoring over 200 students in MERN stack technologies. Resolving nearly 100 technical doubts taught me not just how to code, but how to explain complex concepts clearly.
Professional Growth: From Startups to Scale
Early Career Highlights
CollegeRanker (Twilearn) - My First Real Project This is where it all began. Working as a React Developer, I built their official website alongside the founder. It was my first taste of production code and client requirements.
SuperVC & BizNez.ai - Mastering UI Development These roles taught me the importance of pixel-perfect implementations using styled-components. I learned how to:
- Understand and integrate complex APIs
- Implement responsive designs that work across devices
- Manage application state efficiently
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
The Turning Point: Full-Stack Leadership
GirlScript Summer of Code - Project Admin Managing a repository with 200+ active participants, 400+ issues, and 450+ pull requests taught me:
- Code review best practices
- Community management
- Open source collaboration
- Technical leadership
Dapp-World - Scaling Applications Here I discovered Next.js 13 and the App Router. This experience introduced me to:
- Server-side rendering and static generation
- Modern React patterns
- Performance optimization
- SEO best practices
Current Chapter: KreaitorAI & Beyond
At KreaitorAI, I’m leading full-stack implementation for both kreaitor.io and kreaitor.ai. This role combines everything I’ve learned:
Technical Stack
- Frontend: Next.js 14, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, Ant Design
- Backend: Django, RESTful APIs
- State Management: Zustand, Redux Toolkit
- DevOps: Vercel, GitHub Actions, Docker
- SEO: Google Search Console, Schema Markup, XML Sitemaps
Key Achievements
- Implemented comprehensive SEO strategies
- Optimized application performance using Vercel Blob
- Streamlined CI/CD pipelines
- Mentored and managed 2 interns
- Built scalable, maintainable codebases
The Spider Philosophy 🕷️
My approach to development is inspired by Spider-Man’s ethos:
- Great Power, Great Responsibility: Every line of code I write affects real users
- Web-Slinging Skills: I connect frontend and backend seamlessly
- Problem Solving: Like Spider-Man, I swing into action when bugs appear
- Community First: I believe in sharing knowledge and helping fellow developers
What’s Next?
Currently, I’m working on:
- Template Empire: Building production-ready full-stack templates at templates.thespider.dev
- Open Source: Contributing to the developer community
- Mentorship: Helping the next generation of developers
Tech Stack Arsenal
Here’s my current toolkit:
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion
Backend: Node.js, Express.js, Django, GraphQL
Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
Tools: Docker, Git, GitHub Actions, Vercel, Figma
Mobile: React Native (iOS & Android)
